News and Announcements New Public Works Transfer Station Supervisor PRESS RELEASE The Hingham Public Works Department is pleased to announce that Steven Messinger has been named as the new Transfer Station Supervisor. The vacancy was the result of the recent retirement of John Travers. Steve has worked for the Tree and Park Department and Department of Public Works for over 20 years. The Recommendation Committee cited Steve’s background, education, supervisory training, computer skills, and Class A license as reasons why he was judged to be the most qualified applicant. Superintendent of Public Works, Joseph Stigliani, indicated that he was pleased that the Committee chose to recommend a current DPW employee for the position even though the job was open to outside applicants as well.
