- New Green Residential Transfer Station Permits (Stickers)
One free green permit (sticker) per household - $25.00 for additional permits (stickers).
If you sell/trade in your vehicle or replace your windshield, please take the permit (sticker) off and bring it in and we will replace it free of charge. Otherwise there will be a $25.00 replacement charge.
All permits/stickers will expire in the month which corresponds with the last number (not letter) on your license plate in 2013.
FOR EXAMPLE:
o 82C GRG would be due in February 2013
o 841 DP6 would be due in June 2013
o 250 GLB would be due in October 2013
- ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE - May 9, 2012
List of roads scheduled for work beginning in May, June and ending month of July 2012
The Town of Hingham will be reconstructing, repaving and resurfacing the entire length or sections of the following roads beginning in the month of May:
- Liberty Pole Road
- Colby Road
- Rockwood Road
- Pioneer Road
- Leonard Road
- Andrews Isle
- Linscott Road
- Village Lane
- Chamberlain Run
- Fairview Street
- Old Colony Road
This work will continue until the completion date sometime in July 2012. The exact scheduling dates are dependent on weather conditions.
You may experience minor travel delays during this time. On-street parking from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm will not be permitted. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

- DPW Reminder: Rules and guidelines for snowstorms
Hingham Department of Public Works is reminding all town residents that there is a sand/salt mixture available at the new Carlson Field Complex parking lot on Bare Cove Park Drive.
When snow is forecast, residents are asked to keep all parked vehicles off streets that are plowed by the town to expedite snowplowing and sanding operations. Vehicles obstructing plowing and sanding operations will be towed at the owner's expense. No one other than Town employees or contractors hired by the town may shovel, snow-blow, or plow ice or snow onto a public roadway (Town By-Law Article 10, section 6A). The Town is not responsible for damaged mailboxes, driveway aprons, walkways, stone walls, grassed areas, shrubs, trees, fences, planters, barrels, basketball hoops, or any other object within the town layout.

Illicit Stormwater Discharge Hotline
To report an incident of illicit discharge of liquids/materials into our stormwater system, please notify us by calling our hotline at 781-804-2437.
TRANSFER STATION STICKERS
The stickers are available at the DPW office at 25 Bare Cove Park Drive, Monday thru Friday between 8AM and 4PM. Residents must provide their registration and proof of identification for the stickers which are placed directly onto the vehicle. For more information on stickers, recycling, or the Transfer Station please see the Transfer Station Rules and Regulations or call the DPW, at 781-741-1430.
