The Conservation Department works closely with the Conservation Commission, serving as a liaison between the Commission and the community, including property owners, prospective buyers, consultants, real estate agents, contractors, non-profit organizations, and other government agencies. The staff assists the Commission in administering and enforcing wetlands protection laws and regulations, maintaining conservation properties, and managing a bow hunting program. Additionally, the staff provides project reviews, conducts site inspections, and serves as an informational resource on town-wide natural resources, including native and invasive species, open space, environmental plans and initiatives, stormwater management, federal flood information, etc.
