COVID-19 Update
· COVID-19 cases continue to rise. The most recent DPH data published on August 26th indicates a total of 50 new COVID-19 cases reported in Hingham in the two weeks prior. As a comparison, there were 29 new COVID-19 cases in the two-week period reported on August 12th.
· As of last week, approximately 71% of Hingham residents are fully vaccinated. If you look at only vaccine-eligible individuals in town (people age 12+), the percent of fully vaccinated eligible residents rises to 83%.
· Last week, we reported that the CDC has recommended a third dose of the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for certain individuals who have moderate to severe immune compromise due to a medical condition or receipt of immunosuppressive medications or treatments.
· If you believe you meet the criteria for moderate to severe immune compromise, please contact your primary health care provider or call the State’s In-Home Vaccination Central Intake Line at (833) 983-0485.
