Town Election News March 12, 2026
Candidates
A new candidate pulled nomination papers on Monday, Philip DeCola, is joining the race for Planning Board.
As of Thursday at 3:00 PM, the following candidates have returned their completed 2026 nomination papers:
- Moderator - Michael Puzo
- Select Board – Bill Ramsey
- Board of Health – Lizzie Eldredge
- HMLP Board - Joe Fisher
- School Committee – Jen Benham and Nina Villanova
- Planning Board- Gary Tondorf-Dick
- Sewer Commission – Richard Eisen
- Recreation – Matthew LeBretton
All nomination papers are due tomorrow, Friday, March 13. The Town Clerk Office will be open to accept nomination papers from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Question on the Ballot
The Select Board unanimously voted on March 10 to add the following question to the May 2 Ballot:
Shall the Town of Hingham be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to pay the costs of professional fees, constructing, equipping and furnishing a new Center for Active Living located off Bare Cove Park Drive, Hingham, MA?

Finally, remember that polling hours have changed for the May 2 Election and are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
