[ARCHIVED] Police Department Business

The Hingham Police Department is committed to providing the same level of services that you have come to expect from us with some restrictions.  We will maintain the same staffing levels and continue to respond to all emergencies and calls for service.

We have restricted all public access in police station to the front lobby only.  All civil fingerprinting appointments, firearms permit appointments*, tours, meetings, and Citizen’s Police Academy classes have been postponed.

You may also observe our Officers taking extra precautions while on patrol.  For example Officers may choose not to handle a driver’s license or other paperwork while interacting with motorists or individuals.  They may instead copy down your information or use their portable police radios to call in some information.  Officers may ask people to step outside to speak with them, or in the cases of those coming into the police station lobby they will need to speak with an officer through an intercom or phone.

*If your LTC is due to expire within the next 30 days please email and a licensing officer will reach out to directly.
