[ARCHIVED] MBTA: Commuter Rail Reduced Service Levels Remain in Effect

Last week, the MBTA and Keolis made targeted adjustments to the existing Reduced Service Schedule to provide earlier train options for passengers with essential travel needs, such as medical professionals. The changes took effect on Wednesday, March 25, and the complete Reduced Service Schedule, including these adjustments, is available at www.MBTA.com/coronavirus.

The MBTA and Keolis implemented Reduced Service Schedules based on guidance from public health officials as a measure to help protect passengers and Commuter Rail employees from COVID-19. To support social distancing onboard trains, conductors will provide access to all coach cars, even with low ridership, during both peak service and off-peak service. Passengers are reminded to only board and detrain at doors attended by a conductor. Bicycles will be allowed on all Reduced Service Schedule trains. Coach cars continue to be disinfected every 24 hours, with many receiving this additional deep cleaning every 12 hours. Additional details can be found here.

Weekend schedules remain unchanged. Passengers are encouraged to plan their travel and check schedules online for any service updates.
