Town Administrator Tom Mayo provided the following COVID-19 updates at the Board of Selectmen Meeting on September 1, 2020.
COVID-19 Cases
Massachusetts remains in Phase 3 - Step 1 at this time. Public health indicators in Massachusetts continue to hold steady.
As of today, DPH is reporting 118,784 confirmed cases in Massachusetts, of which 9,097 are in Plymouth County.
As of last Wednesday, DPH was reporting 296 COVID-19 cases in Hingham, keeping us in the Green (lower risk) category.
Travel Order Updates
- The Commonwealth continues to update the list of lower-risk states associated with the COVID-19 Travel Order that went into effect earlier this month.
- As of today, travelers from the following lower-risk states are not required to fill out the Massachusetts Travel Form and do not need to quarantine:
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- Delaware
- Maine
- New Hampshire
- New Jersey
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Vermont
- West Virginia
- States are included on the list based on meeting two criteria: 1) average daily cases per 100,000 below 6, and 2) positive test rate below 5%, both measured as a 7-day rolling average.
- Massachusetts residents are urged to limit any out-of-state travel only to states designated as COVID-19 lower-risk states.
