Town of Hingham, Massachusetts

Sealed bids for construction of the Bayberry Road Ejector Station Improvements, for the Town of Hingham, Massachusetts, will be received at the Hingham DPW Building, 25 Bare Cove Park Drive, Hingham, Massachusetts 02043 until 11:00 a.m. prevailing time, on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at which time and place said bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The scope of work includes construction of the Bayberry Road Ejector Station Improvements providing for conversion of the existing ejector station to a submersible pump station. Work includes all demolition, temporary bypass pumping, station preparation, installation of pumps, valves, and appurtenances, startup and testing, project cleanup, and all incidental tasks associated with the project.

The required contract completion period is 180 consecutive days.

Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.

The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700, GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications.

All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended.

Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract.

By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids.

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in bids and to reject any or all bids.
