[ARCHIVED] Repaving / Reconstruction Notice: Work June 14, 2021

TOWN OF HINGHAM

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

Construction Notice: June 14, 2021

June 11, 2021

To Whom It May Concern:

The Town of Hingham Engineering Department will be repaving and/or reconstructing the entire

length or sections of the following roads on June 14, 2021, weather and time permitting.

  • Triphammer Road
  • Catha Lane

This work will take place during regular construction hours, between 7AM and 5 PM. Please be sure

to check our Town’s website for any updates to this schedule.

You may experience minor travel delays during this time. On‐street parking will not be permitted from

6:00 AM to 6:00 PM during the days contractors are working in your neighborhood. It is important

that you avoid on‐street parking until this project is complete. Vehicles which interfere with this

project will be removed.

Vehicle access to your property (driveways‐parking etc.) will be limited during certain times while the

work is underway. Personal and contractor vehicles should be kept off the roadway. We apologize for

any inconvenience.

We request that you be mindful that the asphalt exceeds 300° F when placed and can damage your

vehicles' tires if you drive on it before it cools. Cooling to a safe temperature can take as much as

an hour, so please plan ahead. We will do our best to accommodate your access needs and maintain

a safe route of travel throughout construction.

The final step in our paving process will occur sometime this summer, with two coats of a 3/16”

thick microsurface emulsion. Notice will be provided when the work is scheduled.

If you should have any questions, please call the Department of Public Works at 781 741‐1430.

Thank you,

NOTE: The Town of Hingham or its’ contractors are not responsible for the replacement of or
