The Hingham Select Board is now accepting applicants for the Town’s newly-formed Human Rights Commission, which represents the Town’s commitment to supporting the rights of all persons in town and to promote diversity, equity and inclusion in Hingham. The Select Board is accepting applications from those who wish to be considered for the Commission. The HRC will consist of 13 members, including five at-large members who are Hingham residents.
Once formed, the Hingham Human Rights Commission will seek to do the following:
- Develop opportunities to build community awareness concerning human rights issues within the town.
- Develop various programs and initiatives and provide community resources to promote human rights for all Hingham residents.
- Provide written or verbal reports to the Hingham Select Board on Commission activities.
Interested candidates should complete a Talent Bank form on the Town's website. Applications will be accepted until Friday, March 25.
