The Select Board is accepting Talent Bank applications from residents who wish to be considered for the reformed Taxation Aid Committee (TAC).
The TAC purpose is to identify recipients of financial assistance through the Town’s Elderly and Disabled Taxation fund. Established under MGL CH 60, Section 3D, the fund gains donations through the Tax Bill Voluntary Check Off Program that is included in Town tax bills. Donations to the fund are intended to alleviate the property tax burden on certain elderly and disabled residents.
The fund is administered by the TAC, which is also established by state law. The Town seeks three residents to participate in the TAC, alongside the Chair, Board of Assessors and the Town Treasurer.
