HINGHAM -- The Town of Hingham will be hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive later this month for all eligible donors.
The community blood drive will take place at the Hingham Senior Center, 224 Central St., on Wednesday, Sept. 21. The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Anyone interested in donating blood should call 1-800-RED-CROS (1-800-733-2767), or visit the donation drive page on the American Red Cross website to schedule an appointment directly.
The donation process can be streamlined by up to 15 minutes by visiting redcrossblood.org/RapidPass to complete a pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire on the day of the appointment.
Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds, and the majority of people will need blood during their lifetime. The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in the community. This drive will continue the Town of Hingham’s long tradition of supporting the life-saving effort of donating blood for those in need.
