Town of Hingham to Conduct Sanitary Sewer Pump Station Rehabilitations
In order to proactively protect the integrity of the sanitary sewer system in the Town of Hingham, the Town will be performing rehabilitations of the Mill Street Sanitary Sewer Pumping Station, located at the corner of Mill Street and Water Street.
Bypass pumping and rehabilitation operations will be performed September 25, 2019 to October 11, 2019. During this time, Mill Street will be limited to One-Way traffic from Water Street to the Mill Street / Station Street parking lot entrance. Traffic on Mill Street heading towards Water Street will be detoured to Station Street. The South Street entrance to the Hingham Cemetery will be temporarily closed due to bypass pump piping required for the work. All other cemetery entrances will remain open.
These rehabilitations are being performed as part of Hingham’s Annual Sanitary Sewer I/I Program. The purpose of his work is to remove sources of groundwater entering the sanitary sewer and perform necessary structural repairs.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this work and appreciate your continued cooperation while we strive to improve our sanitary sewer system.
