[ARCHIVED] Transfer Station Reminder During COVID-19

With the exception of the Swap Shop and scale operations for construction debris and bulky waste, all other Hingham Transfer Station operations remain open during regular business hours of 7:00am to 4:00pm Thursday - Sunday.

Residents may continue to drop off recyclable materials while maintaining a safe social distance (at least six feet) from others.  Residents should continue to move through the Transfer Station efficiently, and should not congregate in groups or linger for conversations.  We thank everyone for following these guidelines thus far.

The CDC generally defines a potential exposure to COVID-19 as being within six feet of someone with COVID-19 for at least 15 minutes.  This scenario is not likely at the Transfer Station.

Transfer Station staff are wearing personal protective gear (masks and gloves) as necessary and following social distancing protocols recommended by the MA Department of Public Health and the CDC.

The CDC also recommends wearing cloth face masks in situations where social distancing is difficult to maintain.  You can find information about making cloth face coverings from household items or common materials here.

Thank you for your cooperation – we will get through this together.
